I bought a used car at Evergreen Subaru with 79,000 miles on the car, and drove it less than 19,000 miles before they said I needed to replace the transmission. They so generously offered to replace the transmission with a used 67,000 mile transmission for 4,700 hundred dollars.
I had brought the car back a month after I purchased the car and said it felt clunky and I thought something was wrong. They reassured me that I wasn't used to an all wheel drive transmission and that's just how they are.
There's even more to the story but the gist of it is that there was zero empathy and a more accusatory tone when the news was delivered to me. The dealer even had the nerve to say that this just happens and that he see's brand new Subaru's transmissions go out. He said it didn't matter if you maintained the car it was just something that happens.

Well what can I say but Evergreen Subaru has had a change of heart and they said there original qoute for a replacement transmission was wrong. It's not 4,700 but 1,300 plus labor.
They felt bad about the situation..........? but they have offered to pay for the transmission if I pay for the labor. Sounds good to me, can't complain. Still along way from earning my trust back especially because I don't know if any of this is in relation to my twitter, flaming the blogs, complaining to the BBB or the calls into the atorney general. Regardless I have to take it as face value and just hope that there are doing it to make a bad situation right.
